What materials do you use?

Paintings are done with watercolor inks and colored pencil on high quality watercolor paper and are shipped unframed in a rigid envelope. Panel paintings are mounted on handmade birch plywood panels and are shipped well-padded in a box.

How do I choose a photo to use?

Don't worry too much about getting a perfect photo - I can always make two animals look like they're in the same picture, change the background, add color or pattern, remove a too-slobbery toy. A clear, well-lit photo is best, and you're welcome to send more than one if you need me to see specific details. Please let me know if there are details you absolutely want in the painting or that you'd like to leave out.

How big are the paintings? can I get a different size?

My standard panel mounted sizes are 5"x5" and 9"x9". Standard paper sizes are 9"x12" and 12"x16". Custom sizing and multiple animal portraits are available, please contact me directly to discuss.

What other information do you need?

Tell me a little bit about your pet! What is their name? Are they playful, calm, goofy, serious? Do they have any unique habits? Is this animal still living, or is this a memorial? Whatever you tell me will help me bring their personality into the painting.

Do you paint any animal?

You bet!  Commissions for chickens, lizards, parrots, and even people are most welcome.
